Nevena Ršumović

Nevena Ršumović is a seasoned expert in media development with a broad experience as a project manager in specialized organisations in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She holds an MA in Political Science (certificate in Political Communication) from the Central European University in Budapest and an MA in Media Innovation Management from the Berlin University of Professional Studies (DUW Berlin / Steinbeis Hochschule).

She has authored academic papers and book chapters pertaining to media landscape in the Western Balkans.

Her extensive experience includes project management for the Center for Investigative Journalism of Serbia – CINS, winner of the 2017 European Press Prize and a multitude of other awards; engagement with SEENPM as the network’s communications officer and contributor to various project management efforts; work for UNDP Serbia and the Commissioner for Freedom of Information and Personal Data Protection in Belgrade towards building the Commissioner’s capacities; first-hand digital literacy work for IREX ProMedia in Sarajevo and a range of professional roles with Mediacentar Sarajevo where she founded Media.ba, then the organization’s educative and informative online publication for media professionals, unique in the region, and served as its chief editor (and contributor) for years, coordinated the regional center for training in investigative journalism, and fundraised for and managed numerous projects.

She has had numerous consultancy engagements for international organizations, most recently as a media expert for the OSCE Media Department in Serbia.
