Investigative reporting: Application deadline 15 August

The NetNovinar Training Centre invites journalists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro to apply for a five-month education programme to specialise in investigative reporting focusing on organised crime topics. The programme is designed to allow the participants attendance that will not interfere with their regular work. The organisers are sponsoring the participants by covering their expenses in full. Application deadline: 15 August 2006.

Roundtable on war crimes

On 28th and 29th September, 2006 in Sarajevo, twenty prestigious journalists and NGO representatives from the region will participate in a roundtable discussion on the ways in which the media handle war crimes and their processing. The roundtable is organized by the Transitions Online in cooperation with the NetNovinar Training Centre.

Short films with Pjer Žalica's mentorship

Participants of Pjer Žalica's master workshop agree it is a big thing that they were able to spend 5 days learning about documentaries and filming alongside a professional who had received several awards for his films. The workshop that took place from 26 to 30 June in the Mediacentar Sarajevo was the first commercial workshop organised by the NetNovinar Training Centre.

Study visit to BiH brings Moldova journalists closer together

Situation in BiH is very similar to the one in Moldavia and for that reason getting familiar with the BiH experiences was very important for us. It is fascinating that, in spite of the terrible war, the journalists and media from BiH continue to work on mutual cooperation and connecting, and promote ideas on common Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is just one of the conclusions of the Moldavian journalists who visited media organisations and NGOs in BiH from 19 to 24 June.

Meeting of Croatian investigative journalists

Around twenty Croatian journalists met in Opatija to discuss investigative journalism from 22nd to 24th June . The discussion topics included: investigative reporting history, ethical dilemmas, the use of computers in journalistic research, opportunities for training and networking of investigative journalists, and joint collaboration on stories.
