In the second workshop of the program “Investigative Reporting: Stories on the Theme of Organized Crime,” journalists from B-H, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Kosovo, in consultation with trainers, will work on investigative stories in the area of organized crime. The workshop will be held on 8-11 May 2007 at Mediacentar Sarajevo.

In the second workshop journalists will extensively work on investigative stories of their choice during the five-month program, with individual consultation with the lead trainers. This kind of work will prepare them to continue working online on stories that will be published upon finishing the program by their respective media outlets and posted on the educational and informational news portal www.netnovinar.org.
During the workshop, Paul Christian Radu, multi-awarded Romanian investigative reporter, will present the database as an important tool in investigative work and acquaint participants with advanced database search techniques. During the workshop, participants will search the Ebart online database.
Gordana Vilović, Professor at the Faculty of Political Science of Zagreb, will discuss ethics in investigative reporting and ethical contradictions in media in the region. Together with the lecturer, participants will examine ethical dilemmas on selected investigative articles.
Workshop lecturers are: Saša Leković, lead lecturer for the workshop and longtime investigative journalist; Branko Čečen, assistant to the lead lecturer; Gordana Vilović, Ph.D., Professor at the University of Dubrovnik and Faculty of Political Science of Zagreb; and Paul Christian Radu, multi-awarded Romanian investigative reporter.
